Provides in-home intervention to children and their families utilizing a skill based, solution focused model to help families adopt positive solutions to problems through the teaching of skills and behavioral techniques accessing community resources and support. Major responsibilities include providing intervention services for IHFS, developing and maintaining effective working relationships with families and community service resources, providing training and support in the development and utilization of functional skills to families, assessing problems and providing care to youth and families, monitoring progress, providing outreach and prevention services, maintaining direct contact with families and being available 24/7 for crisis intervention, promoting family self-determination, educating families on health needs, promoting professionalism, traveling to meet families and children, completing administrative functions, preparing reports, ensuring compliance with standards, and possibly conducting Common Sense Parenting courses. Knowledge required includes recognized interventions, regulatory requirements, community resources, communication skills, computer skills, and Boys Town model fidelity. Required qualifications include an advanced or bachelor's degree in social work or comparable field with experience, valid driver's license, ability to provide transportation, availability for crisis response and non-traditional hours, and possible certification/licensure. Preferred qualifications include experience with children and families in community-based or Boys Town programs. Physical requirements include strength and endurance to perform in stressful situations and various environments.
