Join Our Team as a Manual Machinist - Second Shift!

Are you ready to take your machining skills to the next level? At Flowserve, we’re looking for a passionate Manual Machinist to join our dynamic second shift team. You’ll operate and set up a variety of manual machining equipment, including vertical and horizontal milling machines, lathes, and grinders, to create and modify precision parts for pumps and cokemaking equipment.

Your Role in Our Success

As a Manual Machinist, you will:

• Set up and machine parts and components for all pumps and cokemaking equipment.
• Work safely and promote a culture of safety among your colleagues.
• Follow job summaries and checklists before machining any piece.
• Utilize various machines, including manual horizontal boring mills, vertical lathes, and grinders.
• Maintain tight tolerances of .0005" and inspect parts using micrometers and gauges.
• Read and interpret blueprints and execute tasks based on provided data.
• Collaborate with sales, operations, engineers, and customers as needed.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by fabricating tools and hardware.
• Work with a variety of metals, including stainless steels and Inconel.
• Adhere to all Flowserve policies regarding time, attendance, safety, and productivity.

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should have:

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of manual machining experience, including HBM and/or VTL.
• Your own set of tools, including micrometers and hand grinders.
• The ability to stand for long periods and demonstrate attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
• A willingness to work overtime, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Preferred Skills

While not required, the following skills will give you an edge:

• Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and process.
• Experience in a fast-paced repair services environment.
• A strong drive to make things happen with a "can-do" attitude.
